Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has said that Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka's January 30 swearing in will set the stage for vigorous push for electoral reforms agenda.
Speaking in Mavoko on Tuesday, the Wiper MP said that they (NASA) will intensify push for reforms through various strategies once the swearing takes place.
According to the Wiper legislator, Raila and Kalonzo's swearing in will provide the road map for the opposition to agitate for institutional change in the county’s electoral management system.
He dismissed claims that the planned swearing in will be in vain and 'meaningless', adding that Uhuru’s government should prepare for tough times ahead.
“It is going to be tough for Jubilee once Raila and Kalonzo takes the oath in our push for reforms,” he said.
The MP said they will not tire up unless there is electoral justice and justice for victims of police brutality. He warned Jubilee government against chest thumping stating that their refusal to electoral dialogue will haunt them forever.
The MP urged NASA supporters to be clam and patient as they wait for Raila’s swearing in set for January 30 at Uhuru Park in Nairobi.
Raila and Kalonzo insist that they will be sworn in as the people’s president and deputy respectively.
The two leaders have assured their supporters that the journey to ‘Canaan’ remains on course even as pressure mounts on them to drop the swearing in and adopt dialogue with Uhuru’s government.
