Raphael Tuju has asked "over-excited" members of the Luo community to prepare for any outocme in the August 8 presidential election.
The Jubilee secretary general told the community to accept a defeat should that be the battle between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga.
Tuju said the community must prepare to carry on with their normal lives.
“You should be prepared to absorb the shock that comes with Uhuru defeating your son," he said.
He said this at Arram village in Rarieda on Saturday while accompanied by Jubilee regional director for Western region presidential campaigns Hudson Aluvanje.
Speaking of Raila "busy fantasising" about his Luoland strongholds, Tuju said analysis showed that Jubilee enjoys unwavering support across the country.
“He is like a fish swimming in a pond, not knowing there is an ocean as well,” he said.
He asked the community not to be myopic when interpreting politics since this has dragged them into political oblivion while other regions enjoy their share of the national cake.
"It is fine if Raila wins the presidency but what about if Uhuru defeats him? What will you people do?" he asked.
"Luos need to be like a giraffe. They need to look beyond the August 8 election because life must go on," he said, further saying he could not join the "dirty Luo Nyanza politics of division".
