President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to use the bible that his father, the founding father of the nation Mzee Jomo Kenyatta used during the swearing-in in 1964.
The ceremony, which will see Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto sworn in as the fifth president of the republic, will be held at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani.
In 2013, however, Kenyatta used the bible that his father used to take oath as prime minister in 1963, one that William Ruto will use when his turn to take oath comes.
According to further reports, while signing their certificate, the two will use the same table that former president Mwai Kibaki used during the promulgation of the new constitution in 2010.
According to the constitution, the oaths are supposed to be taken not earlier than 10 am and not later than 2 pm.
The law further states that the oath is administered by the registrar of the Judiciary in the presence of the Chief Justice.
Leaders from wide and far are expected to grace the occasion, with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu among those expected to attend.
East African heads of state are also set to attend the event, with the gates set to be opened from as early as 4 am.
