Former Machakos Women Representative Dr. Susan Musyoka is a household name when it comes to Machakos and Ukambani politics.

Musyoka is also Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s close political ally. In 2007, she unsuccessfully contested for the Machakos constituency seat.  She was elected in 2013 as Machakos women rep on Wiper party ticket but lost the seat in last year's (2017) general election to Irene Kasalu.

Here are facts you didn’t know about Dr. Susan Musyoka;

Doctor by profession

Dr. Musyoka is a trained doctor. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. She also holds a Bachelors of Medicine (Surgery) from the University of Nairobi (UoN).

Dr. Musyoka has over 20 years’ experience in the media filed having worked at Machakos General Hospital and Embu hospital. 

KMWA- Founder 

She is among the founders and patron of the Kenya Medical Women Association (KMWA). The Association advocates for interests of women doctors in the country.

Family and Inspiration 

Dr. Musyoka is a third born in a family of five. In her biography, the former woman rep says that her father who died while she was nine years inspired her to be the person she is today.

She says that she has not given upon politics. In a recent interview, the former legislator said that she will make a comeback in 2022.
