Jessica Nduku Mbalu is the Kibwezi East MP serving her second term in office.
Mbalu is among vocal Ukambani female politicians and a close ally of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

1. Birth
Mbalu was born on August 23, 1976, in Kibwezi, Makueni County.
2. Education
She schooled at Ituumo Primary School and theater joined Mavuti Secondary School for her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
3. Graduate
The Kbwezi lawmaker holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Nairobi (UoN)
She also holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management from UoN.
The second time MP is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in strategic management.
4. Lecturer
Before joining politics in 2013, Mbalu was a lecturer at Catholic University.
5. Family
The lawmaker is married and is blessed with two children.
6. Board member
Mbalu is a board member of St Mary’s Kinyambu Girls in Makueni.
7. Role models
The MP says that Kitui governor Charity Ngilu and former Justice Minister Martha Karua are her political role models.

Mbalu says that she likes adventure and also loves ‘Muthokoi’ ugali and fish
9. Future plans
The second time MP says that she will not contest for the seat in 2022 and wants to give other women space to lead.
There are however claims that Mbalu could bid for the Makueni governor seat in 2022.
With the 2022 succession politics in play, the Wiper MP is among Kamba politicians to watch for ahead of the 2022 general election.
