Nyamai is also among few Kamba politicians who won in 2017 general election on Jubilee Party ticket.

The second time MP is an ardent supporter of Jubilee government, she led President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election in Kitui during the last polls.

Nyamai recently reconciled with Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu after years of political rivalry.

Here are facts you didn't know about the Jubilee Party lawmaker:

1. Birth 

Nyamai was born on 28 August 1976 in Kitui County.

She was raised and schooled at Kyatune Primary School and later went to Mutjake Girls High School.

2. Graduate 

The Kitui South MP holds Bachelors Degree in Education from the Kenyatta University. 

She also holds a Degree in Sociology from the Kenyatta University.

3. PHD

In 2010, Nyamai graduated with Ph.D. in Global Health from the University of Arhus, Denmark.

4. Lecturer

Before venturing into politics in 2013, Nyamai was a lecturer at the Kenyatta University between 2011 and 2012. 

5. Married

Nyamai is married and has children.

 She is also a staunch Christian and a church elder.

6. Politics

Nyamai joined politics in 2013 and was elected first female Kitui South MP in the 2013 general election on NARC party ticket.

She unseated Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka's political ally Issac Mulatya Muoki.

Nyamai has spoken 1098 times in parliament since 2013.

In 2015, she fell-out with Governor Charity Ngilu's NARC party and joined Jubilee.

In 2017, Nyamai won re-election on Jubilee Party and has been supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta's development agenda.

With the 2022 succession politics already playing out, there are claims that Nyamai could bid for the Kitui governor seat in 2022.
