Sarahah App [Image/Sarahah Twitter Handle]
There is a new messaging app called Sarahah.com doing rounds in social media circles. You must have Facebook and Twitter friends who are using it where they invite you to anonymously ask them questions and they later post and answer them on Facebook or Twitter. It is quickly gaining traction in Kenya. According to their official twitter handle, Sarahah is an app that 'helps you self-develop by receiving constructive anonymous feedback'.
Who Needs a Sarahah account?
According to me, you have no business using Sarahah if you are the type of person who cringes when they face negative criticism or harsh questions. No, go back to Facebook my dear since you are the type saying that Sarahah encourages cyber bullying. Again, Sarahah is for those people of note--one whom people want to ask questions. If you have only ten Facebook friends and none of those ten friends know you, Sarahah is not your portion.
Sarahah would be a great app for PR and customer care companies that want to get candid questions and feedback from their clients. I think the National Police service would need the app for community policing purposes where citizens can report insecurity in their areas without the risk of being victimized. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC) could also do with Sarahah for anonymous corruption reports.
What is Sarahah and How Does It Operate?
Sarahah is a term that means honesty in Arabic. Therefore, Sarahah app is all about honesty where your friends, fans and colleagues give honest feedback about you. Created by a Saudi programmer, Zain al-Abidin Tawfiq, Sarahah is one of the most talked about apps in 2017 not only in Kenya but globally.
Sarahah is founded on anonymity because there are certain things you would like to tell someone but are unable to do it on a face to face conversation, via Facebook inbox or Twitter DM. Sarahah gives you this opportunity. As a registered user, you are able to get both positive and negative criticism that would build you. However not all that is sent to you is true about you and therefore, you should take it with a pinch of salt.
To create an account with Sarahah.com, you need to visit the website and register an account by supplying your email address, username as well as password. You could also upload an image though this is optional.
Will Sarahah app reveal my identity?
There has been speculations that Sarahah.com app might be revealing your identity as a sender to the message recipient. The app founder has however said that Sarahah will never reveal your identity. " Sarahah would like to clarify that all messages about revealing the sender's identity are fake, " they tweeted.
