I would briefly describe scientifically what happens to your brain such that you see such things since the brain is the center of it all. When you experience the Rapid Eye Movement (REM), the brain usually has vivid dreams whereas the muscles are turned off such that one does not himself in his dreams. This would, therefore, be unable to move. This condition occurs when the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) is not finished. That is why you would feel paralyzed and unable to move.

Sleep paralysis would occur due to several factors such as lack of enough sleep, depression, and stress accompanied with irregular sleeping patterns. Also sleeping in a supine position, facing upwards, would likely to trigger sleep paralysis. Therefore treating this condition is only dependent on causal factors. No specific cure is known for the condition since it’s not a disease. One maybe asked to take enough rest, take antidepressants, treat psychological issues and have regular sleeping patterns.

This is how you would know you are experiencing sleep paralysis: inability to move, talk or scream which comes with the imagination of sounds such as hissing, zapping, hamming and also buzzing. You are likely to hear voices, whispers and even roar in the room. This would affect your emotions that would derive fear and panic. At times you may actually feel you are being dragged out of the bed, numbness, tingles and vibrations.

Another symptom is the hypnogogic hallucinations that will make you feel a supernatural creature is suffocating with pressure on the chest making it difficult for you to breathe. The creature might also be terrifying or chase you around. You might also feel someone is in your room or entering the room through the window. At times you feel the door is opened mysteriously and the creature found itself in. one is likely to experience fear and panic and be tempted to scream but no sound comes out!

If you experience this, just know it is not a disease, it’s just weird imaginations and you will eventually wake up. It’s just like a dream, ignore it. In case they are annoying always control the stress and have enough sleep.
