The group, Gatundu North Professionals, raised fees for Brian Ng’ang’a Njoroge who has been going round the streets of Kamwangi shopping centre begging for money from locals to raise fees.

The group members led by Francis Kanya said the boy had resorted to manual jobs in the area to raise money.

“I spotted the boy at a local car wash cleaning cars and when I questioned him he said he sat for KCPE exams last year and managed to score 266 marks but due to lack of fees he didn’t join form one at Kanjuku Secondary School where he had secured admission,” said Kanya at Gatundu shopping centre on Wednesday.

The group members had met to thank all those who contributed to help the boy.

Kanya added that the boy informed him that he was living with his old grandmother who could not manage to raise fees.

“I decided to form the whatsapp group to help the boy join school. I took the picture of the boy and informed group members who agreed to help the boy. I am happy for all those who contributed for the 16 year old boy to proceed with his studies,” he added.

Gatundu North director of Education George Wachira expressed his happiness saying the Gatundu North 'professionals' did a commendable job for helping the poor boy.

"As we speak the boy is in school after social media members came to his rescue,” said Wachira.
