The messaging platform WhatsApp owned by Facebook has unveiled a small business application that will enable business owners to connect with their clients on a personal level.
Its users will have the ability to set up a comprehensive business profile by adding important details such as location, website and contact number for the business.
The application will provide the benefits of a Facebook business page on a messaging platform.
The small business application is till now only available on the Android mobile platform and is free of cost and is currently available in Italy, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Many Kenyan small businesses extensively use social media to interact and market their products and services to their customers.
The new small business application is expected to boost communication.
“With the app, businesses can interact with customers easily by using tools to automate, sort and quickly respond to messages,” read part of a statement on by WhatsApp.
Both versions of WhatsApp messenger can be used on the same device and registered with two different numbers if the user has a personal number.
