Former Kenya international Dennis Oliech was the first Kenyan to come up against former Brazillian star Robinho when the two came face to face in a Champions League game.

Robinho was turning out for Italian side AC Milan while Oliech was in French outfit Auerre's colours.

Both of them were playing a pivotal role for their respective sides with Robinho deployed as a right-sided winger while Oliech was given a more central assignment with the number nine position being his.

Former Kenyan international Oliech had his chances to score but Milan's organised defense and disciplined defensive midfield consisting the likes of Gennaro Gattusso meant Oliech was limited to only one real chance.

He had a powerful shot from 25 yards out that could have hit the back of the net had it been on target.

Sadly for the fans, his shot drifted inches wide as Milan heaved a sigh relief.

Robinho was meanwhile the creator of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's goal as his marauding run down the middle allowed spaces in behind the Auxerre defense allowing Zlatan to pounce.

Auxerre would go on to exit Europe dismally finishing the campaign with a solitary point while Robinho's AC Milan finished second behind group winners Real Madrid.

Any chance of another Kenyan facing th talented Brazillian is void as he has since quit active sporting.
