Deputy president William Ruto is an inspirational example of one who has risen from grass to grace.
Before the deputy president ventured into politics he was an evangelist.
Ruto was an evangelist when he was a student at Kapsabet Boys High School and University of Nairobi before he graduated in 1990.
He was at one time the chairman of the University of Nairobi’s Christian Union choir.
While leading the CU choir at the UoN, he used to get a lot of invitations to perform at State House.
His photos of when he evangelized were broken into the internet sometime back by his former colleague in campus and now the CEO of Kenya Films and Classification Board Ezekiel Mutua.
Mutua shared the photos as an evidence of when Ruto was at the peak of evangelism and spreading the word of God followed by a message.
“Evangelist WSR back in the day….Now Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya. Truly inspiring. This is what happens when you serve God diligently in your youth!”
"And now the deputy president is among the most influential politicians in the country, that's far he has come," Mutua added.
"Despite being born in a peasant family, that didn't stop him from soaring higher in life," he concluded.
