Former Kangundo MP and now the Matungulu MCA Moffat Maitha was in 2012 accused of defiling a 15-year-old girl.
The girl who was then a class eight pupil at Kisukioni Primary School confessed before Kangundo Law Courts that she and the former legislator had sex in the bush.
The girl told the court that she met the former legislator through a woman identified as Veronica Nthenya.
The girl, who was the key witness in the case, told the court that on June 10, Nthenya took her to Kamutini area where Maitha was waiting for them.
She said Maitha who was alone in his car picked them up.
The court heard that the three drove along and stopped after a short distance.
The prosecution stated that both Maitha and the girl alighted from the car, leaving Veronica behind.
Maitha is said to have given the girl Sh200 after the act and told her to take a shower.
He intentionally had carnal knowledge of a girl aged 15.
The MCA also faced an alternative charge of an indecent act with a child contrary to Sec 11(1) of the Sexual Offences Act of 2006.
His co-accused, Nthenya faced charges of benefiting from child prostitution contrary to Sec 15 (d) of the Sexual Offenses Act.
However, in November 2012, the case took a nasty twist on after journalists were ordered out of the courtroom.
