In September 2017, soldiers from the Kenya Defence Force (KDF) raided an Al Shabaab camp in Boni Forest, Lamu County.
The soldiers discovered sexual paraphernalia, alcohol, drugs and other personal items.
The Al Shaabab has occasionally criticised Western countries for 'sexual immorality' and finding of the pornographic materials put into question the militants sexual beliefs.
A laptop was was also recovered by soldiers and was secured for a forensic audit.
The incident followed revelations of sexual harassment of a woman who was victim of the militant group.
She narrated how the Al Shabaab militants gang-raped her in one of their hideouts for three years before she managed to flee.
