Members of Parliament have found themselves in a tight spot for launching mediocre projects.
In July 2015, Matungulu MP Stephen Mule embarked on a drive to donate shoes to school going children across his constituency.
However, by fault or default, the shoes that were donated were oversized.
They could not fit the children.
It was an embarrassment to his demeanor and gait as a renown human rights crusader in Kenya and the World.
His action caused an uproar on social media with some of his constituents terming it as wastage of taxpayers money.
The residents said Mule could have used the money to implement more tangible development projects in the constituency.
Due to the incident, the MP was forced to go missing in action to escape the wrath of the residents who were gnashing their teeth in anger.
The locals were in so much anger that they vowed to dethrone him in the next elections.
Nevertheless, as they say, electorates are like children who easily forget after a little convincing, Mule retained his seat as the Matungulu MP in the August 8, 2018 elections with a landslide.
