On a good day, former Bumula Member of Parliament (MP) Sylvester Wakoli Bifwoli’s wit would out-wit any established comedian. The trained teacher once said that ‘We politicians are like Satan'.

That was not all, Wakoli was once quoted dismissing Senator Moses Wetangula’s presidential bid ahead of last year’s general elections after the latter was allegedly beaten by his wife.

According to the former vocal MP, a man beaten by his wife was unfit to run for President.

Before being trounced, Wakoli served as Bumula MP for two terms. He was first elected into office in 2002 and re-elected in 2017.

Towards the 2013 election, he announced his interest in vying for the country's presidency and promised to legalize Busaa (local brew) if elected into office.

He later dropped the bid, and instead vied for the Bungoma Senatorial seat which he lost to Wetangula.

The former MP is currently serving as a Non-Executive Chairperson of the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) Board for a period of three years.
