Former Starehe MP Bishop Margret Wanjiru has taken a low political life after losing bid to contest for Nairobi governor seat on Jubilee party ticket in last year's polls.

Wanjiru, a famous and vocal female politician has gone politically silent.

The former MP's political whereabouts remains unknown even as the 2022 succession politics start to take shape.

Wanjiru was last seen in public when Nairobi governor Mike Sonko was declared Jubilee party candidate to contest for the seat in April 2017.

The Jesus Is Alive Ministries Bishop lost in the Jubilee nomination.

The former lawmaker was then charged in court after she allegedly caused public disturbance and destroyed ballot boxes at the City market polling station during Jubilee nomination in April last year.

Majority of Nairobian's thought Sonko would have picked Bishop Wanjiru as his deputy but he settled on Polycarp Igathe, who later resigned.

According to political analyst Peter Ngure, Bishop Wanjiru will make a come back in 2022.

He observes that the controversial Bishop enjoys huge support base in Nairobi and cannot be ruled out of the 2022 succession game-plans.

"Margret Wanjiru will be back in 2022 and she is likely to bid for the governor seat on an opposition party," he revealed.

The analyst noted that Wanjiru is likely to decamp from the Jubilee Party before the 2022 general election.

Wanjiru a former close ally and confidant of opposition leader Raila Odinga ditched ODM after the 2013 general election.

Wanjiru unsuccessfully contested for the Nairobi Senate seat in 2013 on ODM ticket.

The seat was won by the now Nairobi governor Mike Sonko.

Wanjiru came to political limelight when she won the Starehe parliamentary seat on Orange party in 2007.

She was later appointed Housing Assistant Minister in the Grand coalition government.
