Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's silence at this time of the political cycle is eyebrow raising.

The Opposition chief Raila Odinga's Orange Democratic Party (ODM) deputy leader has remained loudly silent at a time when his boss is being subjected to insults and threats by his almost-former allies within the opposition.

Joho is known to always stand up for the veteran leader whenever need be, but is yet to comment on the ongoing wrangles within the National Super Alliance (NASA), a disagreement that has seen Odinga branded traitor.

The force led by NASA co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula has since accused the former Prime Minister of supervising Wetangula's ejection as the Senate Minority Leader, with the Ford Kenya party leader going ahead to warn Odinga of a pending political punishment.

Wetangula has warned that he will give Raila sleepless nights and sabotage his next moves in the political arena, for standing guard while he was being humiliated and harassed by ODM senators.

Known to have gone to the extreme for Odinga, including attending and gracing his January 30 mock presidential inauguration, one that was said to amount to treason, many Kenyans would like to see the vocal county chief's reaction to the latest development.
