Former Governor Jack Ranguma made history in 2013 when he came out of 'nowhere' to become Kisumu County's number one governor.
Ranguma trounced political heavy weights and secured the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket which is considered a hot cake in the region.
During his term as Governor, Ranguma helped in re-establishing top industries in the county that include; the Muhoroni Sugar company.
His aim of being re-elected in 2017 started poorly after Senator Anyang' Nyong'o beat him in the ODM nominations.
He ditched ODM and became an Independent candidate but again lost to the veteran Kisumu politician.
After his loss, Ranguma filed a petition which was later thrown out due to lack of enough evidence.
The former tax policy expert at the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), later filed an appeal whic is yet to be ruled on.
Since then Ranguma has been off the public scene and many residents have been wondering what became of the ex-county boss.
Is he back to private practice, working on tax matters? and economic affairs. Is he re-strategising his return to politics? If so which position will he contest? These are some of the manyquestion the residents have in mind.
What Ranguma is working on is still unclear, but one thing is for sure JR as he is popu;arly referred to will make a comeback in 2022.
