The Kleptomaniax group which consisted of Roba, Nyashinski and Collo ruled the Kenyan airwaves for sometime. The group members eventually went separate ways embarking on solo projects.
Seemingly Nyashinski emerged as the most successful member of the group producing hit after hit since his 2016 comeback. On the hand Collo got saved and released a gospel song 'bazokizo'.
Rawbar the most laid back member of the group, formerly known as Roba, rapper Rawbar is back. He has come back with the past Kenyan crooner Mr. Lenny, and they both released the track “Lucky Me.” The song a clear misfire on what was to be a great comeback, only highlights why Roba was not the top dog when Kleptomaniax was in existence.
Rawbar has to do a lot more to catch up to his friends as his beat did not hit the market as expected. Despite his failed attempt at a comeback, Rawbar has received lots of support on making it back to the industry with his new release. Only time will tell if he has the staying power to make to the top.
"I am now under my own record label called Musiq Plantat Epren Center, Buru-Buru Nairobi which I co-own, under the Plant Media Company umbrella. My executive producer happens to be my elder brother Paul Bruce aka Doc Spot. He was in fact featured in Klepto’s very first original single “freak it” which was our very first song while still in High school. He has done a number of great works polishing up talents and even brought some in the industry. He has worked with talents like L-Ness, Judge, Chief Chef, Safi Chafu, K-Force, Alfayo, Bilari, Wyre, Kalahari, Shavey n Slice etc just to mention but a few. As a solo artiste, it is much more challenging, but as I said, I love challenges, as there is more room for creativity, experimentation and growth. There is a lot more to try and learn." Said Roba in an interview with Ghafla.
The music industry is waiting for Roba to make a comeback like his peers.
