As a result of the Drone documentary and a lot of war, terror attacks, persecutions that have been going on in the world the doubting Thomas will ask with objectivity where is the church?. The Citizens will ask when will our politicians stop show casing their power while they seat in well-guarded palaces as innocent people suffer and die?. Yes, they die from bullets, drones, bombs, hunger, and diseases. All in all, one question lingers many, where is the church, the voice of reason?
The gospel of love, forgiveness, and reconciliation. The gospel that Jesus taught that we should love our enemies, pray for them and bless them. The book “The Irresistible Revolution” by Shane Claiborne in his last pages “We are all wretched and we are all beautiful. No one is beyond redemption. May we see in the hands of the oppressors our own hands, and in the faces of the oppressed our own faces. We are made of the same dust, we cry the same salty tears and we have red blood running through our veins.”
Let’s hope that as Christians we will choose to be extremists of love, stand up for what we are called to, we must break the cycle of violence, bitterness, and revenge. We should invest more in showing acts of love more than we invest to discover new ways and methods of war.
