Chidzuga, a former ally of ODM party leader Raila Odinga lost re-election to Zuleikha Juma in last year’s polls.

The former MP’s silence who ditched Raila’s party and joined President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party in 2015 is now causing worry among her supporters in Kwale and the larger coast region.

Chidzuga, now an ardent supporter of Jubilee government has taken a low political life with political analysts arguing that his political career is done and dusted.

According to political analyst Peter Ngure, Chidzuga stands no chance of making it back to active politics.

“I don’t think the likes of Zainab Chidzuga will make it to active politics and their defeat last year’s sealed their fate,” he said in an interview on Monday.

The former Kwale woman representative was among Coast leaders who campaigned for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election in last year’s repeat presidential election.

There have been claims that the former MP would be awarded with a state job in President Kenyatta’s government.

However,  hopes of being appointed in government continues to fade away as majority  of president Uhuru Kenyatta's allies who lost election have already been appointed to various state jobs.

The former MP is now battling for political survival even as coast leaders advocate for unity ahead of 2022 general election.
