LPK, which is led by Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba, will hold a two-day retreat at Sentrim Lake Elementaita Lodge from Friday to Sunday to deliberate on the elections, Daily Nation has reported.

“During the two days, the party will discuss its election strategies, campaign programme, nomination and support for party candidates at all levels,” said LPK secretary- general David Makali, in a press statement on Wednesday.

According to Makali, the party does not have a preferred candidate but will announce which coalition to support after the retreat.

In December last year, LPK party leader Ababu Namwamba declared that his party will work closely with the Jubilee Party to promote mature politics and development in Western Kenya.

He made the remarks when he accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto on their tour of Busia County.

Early this year, the former ODM secretary-general had also pledged to support ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi after he was named the Luhya Community Spokesperson.
