ODM leaders have launched an onslaught against Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula, accusing him of sabotaging the Orange party in Bungoma.
Speaking during a meeting to endorse Maraka MCA Balala Mutoka for the post of party branch chairman, 14 MCAs, Bungoma Governor hopeful Alfred Khangati and Kakamega county Chief of Staff Nabii Nabwire said Wetangula owes his freedom to ODM.
According to Khangati, were it not for ODM to back Wetangula during the by-elections in 2014, the Ford Kenya leader could have been sent into political oblivion.
He added that the Raila-led party is dominant in Western especially Bungoma and that anybody doubting that should be prepared for a rude shock in 2017.
"Anyone who says ODM is weak in Bungoma and Western at large is wrong. It's clear that we have the largest number of MCAs in the Assembly. We want to warn our brothers from Ford Kenya not to dare try and tell us that Bungoma is a Ford Kenya zone when we know very well they have ridden on our back in many occasions," Khangati was quoted by the Star.
On his part, Nabwire said ODM is the strongest party in the region as compared to Ford Kenya which has brought a lot of confusion in the region.
