The independent party Kenya National African Union (KANU) has been struggling to make a decision on who they will back in the August 8 election.

On Wednesday the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders signed a pact among the affiliated parties to confirm that they will face Jubilee fold as a coalition.

However, KANU officials were conspicuously missing at the coalition agreement signing ceremony after showing several signs of working with NASA.

KANU Secretary General Nick Salat has severally associated the party with NASA and even attended two of their functions.  Nominated Senator Zipporah Kittony also offered her counsel to NASA to remain united as that is the only way they can topple Jubilee and liberate Kenya.

Inconsistency is, however, a big challenge in the independent party after West Pokot Senator John Lonyangapuo publicly announced that KANU will back President Uhuru Kenyatta's bid.

KANU chairman Gideon Moi has, however, remained silent on his preference, recently he hosted Uhuru when he visited his father Daniel Moi where reliable sources have revealed that Kenyatta was out to seek for Gideon and father's support.

KANU is expected to hold a National Executive Council meeting in Nakuru on Thursday to discuss the contentious issue.

The big question is which way will KANU go, NASA or Jubilee and will their decision affect the voting patterns come August?
