Abdikadir Omar Aden is the current MP for Balambala Constituency.
Born on October 21, 1972, in Garissa, Aden is a first-time legislator who was first elected in March 2013 on an ODM ticket.
In the 11th Parliament, Aden is a member of Procedural and House Rules Committee, a position he has served since 2013.
In April 2015, Aden forwarded his candidature lead the all-powerful Parliamentary Accounts Committee (Pac) just after the National Assembly approved a list of 29 members of the oversight committee, which constitutionally features six new faces.
The previous bench had been disbanded after its chairperson Ababu Namwamba and several other members featured in corruption scandals. However, they lost in the bid after the Rarieda MP, Nicholas Gumbo emerged first after beating John Mbadi who came second among others who followed in the list.
Like other honourable members in the 11th House, Aden has a strong educational background. He attended Balambala Primary between the years 1982 and 1989, thereafter joining Lenana School in 1990 till 1993. He proceeded to the United States International University (USIU) between 1996 and 1999 for HIS BSc to study International Business Administration (IBA).
After USIU, he joined the South Bank University, London in 2000 to pursue Maters Degree in International Business.
Aden has worked in various companies and in various capacities. He worked with Standard Chartered as Business Development Manager and also in the British American Tobacco (BAT) as its general manager until 2013 when he ventured into politics.
He has since expressed bid to defend his current space in the forthcoming elections but has never made public his party ticket.
Unconfirmed reports say he could be on the move to the ruling Jubilee party that is seemingly gaining popularity in his constituency.
