The MP has spoken 52 times in Parliament as revealed by Mzalendo online magazine.

He entered the books of history after being the first ever legislator of the newly created electoral unit that was curved out after splitting the larger Changamwe Constituency.

Twalib enjoys a massive following owing to his love for development projects, especially road construction.

The MP has been christened 'Kijana Mwepesi', a factor that has been attributed to his youthful demeanor and stature.

He is also one of the high profile faces behind the launch of Bangla-Pesa in Mombasa County.

He firmly backed the use of Bangla-Pesa, stating that its objective was to enable local traders to get a medium of exchange that suits their local needs.

Like any political icon, Twalib has been faced with controversy, with a major scandal emerging after he was accused of hand picking board members to sit at the constituency's development committee.

He received harsh criticism from a section of electorates in the area, including Haki Yetu Director Gabriel Dolan, who claimed that Twalib had contravened the Constitution.

The MP is yet to declare which party he will use to defend his current position.
