Even at the age of 75 years, Hon Christopher Obure was appointed the Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development.  

In last year’s elections, he unsuccesfully vied for the Governor’s seat on a Jubilee ticket.  

However, do you know who he really is? 

Here are some facts you didn’t know about him.

He was born on 1st January 1943 in Boigesa Village. 

He has also been a politician in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). 

He served under President Moi as a Finance minister. 

Hon. Obure is a married man with five children.

Before joining politics, he worked for Bata Shoe Company and Kenya Breweries Limited (now East Africa Breweries).

He is the first Senator of Kisii County. 

Hon. Obure went to Kisii High School where he attained his A-level certificate. 

He furthered his studies in Nairobi University where he attained a Bachelor Degree of Commerce.

He has professional membership in the following areas:

2. Member of Kenya Institute of Public Secretaries

3. Member of Kenya Institute of Management
