Women leadership in Garissa County never goes without mentioning Fatuma Kinsi Abass.

She has just landed on the public limelight owing to her vocal stand in addressing women issues in the region.

Despite her name trending in Garissa politics, what many are yet to know is who Fatuma Kinsi are her future plans, interests, and projects.

Kinsi is among the popular female aspirants that have already expressed interest in contesting for the Women Rep position in the county.

Her entry has spurred underground whispers among the followers of Shukran Gure, the current Women Rep of Garissa County.

Kinsi is an ardent supporter of girls' and women issues, a bid she hopes will help build confidence, raise self-esteem and encourage communities to participate decision-making processes.

Born and raised in Garissa, Kinsi has largely worked with her remote local community from an early age.

Her first public role was when she served as girls' youth representative, a position she committed herself to working for the wellness, economic and social empowerment of all the women of her community.

She said her dream is to see rural women and children attain full empowerment in modern governance in all levels of development.

Her famous quote is "What a man can do, a woman can do better."

On her political future, she briefly hints that more is yet to reach to the Garissa people.
