Francis Mwangangi Kilonzo was is the sitting MP for Yatta Constituency, Machakos County. He was elected to the eleventh Parliament under Muungano Development Movement ticket in March 2013.

In the National Assembly, Mwangangi is a member of the Joint House Committee on National Cohesion and Equal Opportunities, and also a Departmental Committee member on National Security and Administration. 

According to Mzalendo online, Francis Mwangangi Kilonzo has spoken 185 times in the eleventh Parliament since his election in March 2013.

Mwangangi is among the first legislators from the opposition to back the ruling Jubilee coalition stating that it was the desire to ensure of his constituents so as to benefit from the popular sharing of the national cake. 

His famous call on the Jubilee Government was to fulfill its pre-election pledges, especially to the many jobless youths languishing in poverty.

Mwangangi once fell apart with the National Assembly speaker Justine Muturi in November for his alleged shielding Devolution CS Anne Waiguru. 

It is then that he led other several legislators to demand for the impeachment of the House Speaker for bending standing orders to serve some few powerful faces.

At the same year, 2015, Mwangangi similarly hit the news headlines as he faulted the Kenya police officers for demanding cash rewards after providing security services at public meetings.

"One of the cardinal responsibilities of the Government is to offer security. If we are start paying the police, yet it is their core responsibility, where is the country headed to?" he was quoted by the media.

However, in the incoming elections, Mwangangi will seek to defend his legislative seat but in a party he is yet to reveal.
