George Morara is a soft spoken academician currently working as a behavioral specialist for the mentally challenged people in Pennsylvania, United Sates of America.

Born in 1973 in Bonyamatuta ward in Nyamira County, Morara is named after former West Mugirango MP and a critic of the Jomo Kenyatta government, George Morara.

He went to Nyakeore, Nyanchwa and Homabay primary schools where he sat his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education in 1987.

Morara secured admission to Agoro Sare High School where he completed his secondary education in 1991.

He later joined Egerton University – Njoro campus between 1993 and1998 under government sponsorship, and subsequently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness Management.

Due to the fewer job opportunities in the market then, he retreated to his rural home after graduation and was offered a teaching job as an untrained teacher at Nyakemincha Secondary School before moving to Kencell Communication.

He later bow out from Kencell to venture into the jua kali business in Waithaka, Nairobi, a business he held concurrently with selling of vegetables to the surrounding community.

In 2006, Morara secured a scholarship to Western Michigan University in the US where he undertook his masters in International Development Administration and also Public Administration in 2008 and 2014 respectively

Morara has been executing various philanthropic activities in his home county among them promoting motivational speaking in public schools, water harvesting programmes and supporting children from impoverished backgrounds in payment of school fees.

He is eyeing the Bonyamatuta ward seat, insisting that under the new constitutional dispensation, the MCA seat is indispensable since it directly contributes towards  meaningful development in counties.

Morara further notes that Kenyans need to elect MCAs with undo-able integrity and education to save devolution from collapsing.
