Joseph Kiangoi Ombasa is one of Kenya's representative at the East Africa Legislative Assembly. He is also the former member of Parliament for North Mugirango constituency.

Kiangoi who was born in Bombo Bomwagamo location in Nyamira County is a lawyer by profession.

Before joining politics in 1997, Kiangoi was an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

He was elected member of Parliament in 1997 on a Kanu ticket. In 2002, he, however, lost the seat to the late Godfrey Okeri Masanya of  Ford People.

 As one of the ODM representative to EALA, his term expires in 2017.

He has declared his interest in the Nyamira County senatorial seat in the next year's general election where he is expected to battle it out with former LSK chairman Erick Okongo Omogeni, lawyer Nyambega Mose and current Senator Kennedy Mongare among others.

There have been media reports that Kiangoi, who has been an active ODM member, is warming up to Jubilee, claims he has since dismissed saying he has not left the Orange party yet.
