As we are approaching the next polls people have started aligning themselves on how they are going to contest and defend their seats.
During the last election, people were elected under the new constitution that many of them did not know well about the hottest seat in the county level more so between the Governor and Senate seat.
Currently, we have seen many Senators showing interest for gubernatorial seat, in Kisii county things might be the same when Chris Obure go for the governorship.
Obure will be having more chances of clinching the title if the current Governor James Ongwae fails to position himself well.
Obure comes from Bobasi constituency which is said to have more votes than any other unlike Ongwae who comes from Kitutu.
In the first case, Obure who is the chairman of Omogusii unity team has a number of 8 sitting MPs who have come together in agenda of uniting the Omogusii.
The MPs will influence the election of Obure if he goes for the seat since they will campaign for him as they also seek reelection.
Another factor which will determine the next Kisii county Governor is the running mate of each candidate.
Each group will need to have a strong running mate who will influence people in the region.
For Instance, if the Running mate will come from Nyaribari it means that he will influence both Nyaribari Chache and Nyiribari Masaba or from Kitutu Chache North and South.
The party which each will vie with will also determine, last time Kisii county supported ODM members with most of them clinching the title but this time Jubilee has a chance.
