Several allegations have been leveled against religious differences following a fist fight at Jamhuri High School that left several students, the school principal injured and school property damaged.

The allegations purported to be a major fall out between Muslim and Christian students has however got new developments with revelations indicating that it was an in-house administrative issue that had a convincing prior basis of the dispute.

According to exclusive interviews held by The Standard with a section of parents who had arrived following reports on the happening of the incident, it all began the previous year when the current principal reported to the school.

Interviews with students indicated that there was discrimination from the administration especially school prefects who treated some students indifferently by giving others favors even during meals while target and mistreat the other section of students.

The discrimination is claimed to have reached the extent of the school having different social amenities for different groups of students despite the principal Mr Awour and the school’s board chairperson Lonah Mumelo dismissing the allegations.

As much as the administration would not want to consent to the fact that student discrimination is prevalent in the school as alleged by a facet of the students, it is crystal clear that something is not right in administration of student justice and fair treatment at the school and hence a lot has to be done to bring the school back to order.
