In the current National Assembly, he is a committee member in the Departmental of Energy, Communications and Information.

He has served the house committee since his election in 2013. However, he is among the many legislators who contribute less in the house.

According to Mzalendo Online, Musyoka Musau has only spoken 121 times in Parliament since his popular election.

Musau graduated just a decade ago from University of Nairobi where he pursued a B.Sc. Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

Prior to getting into the world of elective politics, Musau worked at the Ministry of Information and Communication as national Advisor in Robotics. He was also the Chief Executive Officer of his own Tekno International company.

Just like all other Kenyan legislators, Eng Musyoka Mutua in November 2015 featured in a controversial deal where he was accused of overly inflating fleet management tender for Machakos county up by close to Sh28.

The tender was alleged to have been inflated upwards from Sh2 million to a massive Sh30 million.

However, the case died a natural death after Musyoka challenged the whistle-blowers to table their evidence on the said tender. Critics say Mutua was behind the deal and that was the reason why the case was dismissed.

Concerning the 2017 elections, it is unclear whether Mutua will seek re-election on his current party or he will decamp to a more popular coalition.
