The National Super Alliance (NASA) Nyanza presidential campaign team has been accused of undermining affiliate parties candidates in the opposition alliance.

Kisumu West MP Olago Aluoch claimed members of the team are using NASA resources to campaign for candidates vying on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) tickets.

Alouch, who is defending his seat on a Ford Kenya ticket, said this had caused friction between NASA candidates and could hurt opposition leader Raila Odinga’s chances of ousting President Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee Party in August.

“Some members of that team are also seeking political seats and have only been campaigning for themselves,” Aluoch said urging the team to restrict itself to drumming up support for Raila, the NASA presidential candidate.

Nyanza presidential campaign team is led by Homa Bay Woman representative Gladys Wanga, nominated MP Oburu Oginga, ODM party activist Bob Madanje and former Kasipul Kabondo legislator Paddy Ahenda.

Echoing the same sentiments, Nyanza politician Grace Akumu, accused the team of causing tension between NASA candidates by calling for a six-piece voting for ODM candidates.

“Should Raila lose, the campaign team will be held responsible. They are only obsessed with campaigning for ODM candidates at the grassroots and not our presidential flag bearer,” Akumu said as quoted by the Standard.

However, Oburu Odinga, Raila's eldest brother, dismissed the critics saying the team has also been asked to drum up support for ODM candidates.
