[Photo|UGCG]In a move to improve on reporting and enhance referral systems, the County Government of Uasin Gishu in conjunction with World Health Organisation (WHO) has issued mobile phones to community health workers in charge of community unit across the sub-counties.Speaking to the health workers while issuing the phones, at the county hall, the officer in charge of Preventive and Promotive Services said the Department's main objective is to strengthen disease prevention for every Uasin Gishu resident.On her part, County Executive Committee member in charge of Health Services Margaret Chepkwony indicated that appreciating community health workers through enhancing technology in their work, helps in saving time and travelling costs.Chepkwony advised the Community Health Volunteers to work hand in hand with the Health Department, to ensure the health sector in the county is streamlined, Tuesday.
