Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has the political power to help Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka win the presidential election in 2022, a political analyst has said.
According to Peter Ngure, Ngilu is a political strategist and broker who could help Kalonzo ascend to power in the next polls.
Ngure says the Kitui county boss played a crucial role in formation of National Rainbow Alliance that ousted retired president Daniel Arap Moi from power in 2002.
The analyst says Kalonzo needs Ngilu’s negotiation skills as he seeks partnerships and endorsements ahead of 2022.
“Kalonzo needs Governor Charity Ngilu than anyone else in his camp in order to succeed in his 2022 presidential bid,” Ngure said in an interview on Thursday.
The analyst stated that Ngilu is fearless and could approach anyone in the political circles for support to boost Kalonzo's bid.
Ngilu is among veteran politics who ganged up to end Moi’s 21 year rule in 2002.
Last week, Ngilu alongside other Kamba politicians endorsed Kalonzo’s 2022 bid.
Kalonzo has since hinted on re-branding his Wiper Party to One Kenya Movement (OKM).
There are also claims that Governor Ngilu could fold his NARC party to join the proposed OKM.
