This is after the Eldoret-based university proposed to outsource cleaning and catering services.

In a memo signed by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Richard Mibey, the move is aimed at improving service delivery.

“I wish to inform all staff that Moi University Council in its wisdom resolved to have cleaning and catering services outsourced to improve service delivery. The decision was not made by a few staff of the university,” read the statement.

The move was not received well by workers who vowed to use any means to see the decision is not implemented.

In protest of the directive, the workers held a peaceful demonstration on Wednesday.

If the directive is implemented it will be another controversy Mibey will be embroiled in with workers who have accused him of mistreatment.
