The dream of Ndeti to take over the leadership of the county was dealt a major blow after a petition filed by a voter sailed through.
Kyalo Peter Kyuli, a registered voter, moved to court seeking to have the Ndeti’s nomination not only canceled but also her certificate of clearance revoked ahead of the next general elections.
The assertion of the voter was backed by Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, who has been accusing Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka of imposing her on the people of this county.
The complainant argues that Ndeti did not meet the requirements of the electoral body hence does not deserve to take part in the exercise when that time comes.
Kyuli has also cited a letter in which the aspirant (Ndeti) has been listed as a member of Chama Cha Uzalendo and Wiper Democratic Movement Party ahead of the election date. The removal of Ndeti from the candidates to contest for the seat is likely to give Mutua an advantage when that time comes.
