Budalang'i MP and Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) leader Ababu Namwamba has defended his decision and that of the party to back President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection bid during the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking on Friday at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) when LPK formally endorsed the Head of State for re-election, Namwamba noted that the Jubilee adminstration has delivered on key pledges that they made in the run up to the 2013 general elections.
The lawmaker further lashed out at the opposition coalition NASA, accusing its leaders of failing to spell out their agenda for the country as they seek to unseat President Kenyatta.
“We have seen what the President has done in the last four years and we are committed to supporting that progress. That is why we have taken a stand to challenge the narrative of isolation and falsehood propagated by the opposition,” he stated.
President Kenyatta has since welcomed the endorsement, affirming his adminstration's commitment to improving the living standards of Kenyans.
“Let us look to the future and work with all Kenyans to find solutions to our problems and not keep complaining like some people who have no solutions but are only interested in petty political goals," he said.
