Speaking to Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange on Wednesday night during the JKL program the COTU boss observed that he left Nairobi long ago and commutes every day for 100 kilometers to work.

“I left Nairobi long ago. The poor state of roads made me move to Kajiado yet I have a house in Nairobi which I am yet to find a buyer for. I commute every day to work and by 5.00 am I am always in my office. The road is good, it is an international highway,” said Atwoli.

Atwoli mourned of poor establishment of policies to guide developments thus make Nairobi dwarf among peer cities.

“Nairobi should be like any big city where public transport is sound. We need space to expand the airport and construct many runways but buildings are coming up near the airport,” remarked the COTU boss.

The trade unionist further blamed adoration of politics by the leaders for the mess in the capital.

“What we suffer from is hero worshiping where we adore politics more than development. All top government officials are well travelled; I wonder what they learn when they visit well organized cities.” Observed Atwoli.
