Thirdway Alliance leader Ekuru Aukot now wants to be enjoined in the election petition filed at the Supreme Court challenging the win of President Uhuru Kenyatta.Aukot wants to be enjoined in the two petitions as an interested party.In his application, Aukot claims he will suffer prejudice if he is barred from the matter.The petitions were filed by former Kilome MP Harun Mwau alongside activists Njonjo Mue and Khelef Khalifa .They argue that IEBC failed to comply with the constitution when they conducted the repeat polls.The second election petition was filed by activist Okiya Omtahtah who wants the October 26 polls nullified because IEBC failed to conduct fresh nominations following the withdrawal of National Super Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga.Respondents named in the petitions have until 5 pm on Sunday to respond while parties wishing to file applications concerning any of the three petitions filed have until midday on Monday. The Supreme Court will conduct a pre-trial session on Tuesday ahead of the hearing.According to Article 140 (2) of the Constitution, the Supreme Court has 14 days from the date of filing to hear and determine a petition challenging the outcome of a presidential election.
