A lot of the youth spend a lot of time analyzing football teams everyday especially on the weekends to place a bet. It goes without saying that 98% of the bets placed are never won. The serious part of it all is the fact that, they miss the win narrowly and that makes the gamblers never want to stop betting or gambling.
Betting or gambling if you will, is very addictive just as alcohol and sex are addictive when one engages in the activities repeatedly.
The youth, cry foul of the government blaming it for not creating employment. Most of these youth, specifically who gamble with their Ksh50, Ksh100, Ksh150 and above forget the Kiswahili common saying “Kidogo Kidogo Hujaza kibaba”. The saying is interpreted as “Little by little fills the bowl”. What if the gambler would save from the little money he/she has in hand?
Lack of discipline among the youth/gamblers is what that cost their opportunity to think and be creative. They forget that the difference between success and failure is hard work. This is equation is as simple as pie to balance.
Betting is not wrong, and many have become a success through gambling. Being wise is key if at all you have to bet. Do not bet with only money you have to get more so that you may be able to foot a bill or clear debts. Think of what would become of you if you lose. If you have to bet, bet with your surplus. When you run out of the surplus create.
Do not bet to make money. That will leave you frustrated. It is all about luck
