[Photo|IEBC]Reports indicate that before IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati arrived at appointing six new staff to oversee the October 17 presidential election, all was not well at the Commission.Four Commissioners are said to have declined Chebukati's changes to the commission, such as relinquishing CEO Ezra Chiloba, of his duties, following the failed August 8 election.Reports say the IEBC Secretariat, led by Chiloba, did not do enough to ensure credible poll in August, hence the Chebukati proposed changes. Before arriving at the six new names to oversee the next election, Chebukati is said to hsve consulted extensively with staff members and other election and legal experts.According to the Star, the Commissioners who rejected Chebukati's proposed ''Clean-up'' exercise include:1. Molu Boya2. Abdi Guliye3. Paul Kurgat4. Vice chairperson Consolata NkathaThis left him with support of commissioners Roseline Akombe and Margaret Wanjala only, hence the decision to quickly think of coming up with an alternative team of six staff, who include the following.1. Marjan Hussein Marjan - Project Coordinator.2. Dr Sidney Namulungu - Head of Operations.3. Nancy Kariuki - Head of Logistics.4. Bernard Misati Moseti - Head of Training.5. Albert Gogo - Head of ICT, under supervision of the National Returning Officer (Chebukati).6. Silas Rotich - Head of the National tallying centre. However, parties participating in the presidential election, Jubilee Party (Uhuru Kenyatta) and National Super Alliance -Nasa (Raila Odinga) have already dismissed the new team, saying they are not partial to conduct an election.
