Electoral body chairman Wafula Chebukati on Tuesday snubbed NASA leaders under the stewardship of opposition leader Raila Odinga, despite meeting Deputy President William Ruto later on.
In honour to IEBC’s summon, Odinga and his team had toured the offices for a meeting with all stakeholders ahead of October elections.
But at Kibera hours after storming out of IEBC offices, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka claimed that Chebukati had feared meeting them because of threats from Ruto.
“I want to warn Chebukati that we cannot be intimidated by him or Jubilee. We honoured the summons and he feared meeting us because of threats by Ruto.
“It is wrong to snub us only to meet the same person later even without our presence. We are not going for these elections until IEBC executes radical surgery,” he said.
Last week, Ruto sensationally claimed that chebukati had been meeting NASA leaders at night, a claim that was dismissed by the electoral body chairman.
NASA wants Chebukati to sack a number of officials whom they claim that conspired with Jubilee government to rig August 8 elections.
