[Photo|Abdulswamad Nassir]Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir held a joint presser on Sunday with Haki Africa over enforced disappearance of Mohamed Ali Zigizi on Friday last week.Zigizi was last seen taken by unknown persons at Consolata area in Likoni. Also present in the presser were MPs Suleiman Dori (Chairman, Coast Parliamentary Group), Benjamin Tayari (Kinango MP), Mishi Mboko (Likoni MP), Haki Africa CEO among others.They expressed concerns over raising cases of enforced disappearances in the coastal region and extra judicial executions."As the political leadership, we are concerned of the sudden rise of cases of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in the region post the electioneering season," said Nassir, adding that Haki Africa alone has reported over 11 cases between August and November 2017. Following this, Nassir indicated that they would follow up to get the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet summoned to Parliament to account for the cases "as well as to tell the Nation what steps the Police are taking to ensure that every Kenyan's safety and security is guaranteed as per article 29 of the constitution."
