[Photo|Bungoma Governor press service]Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati has said a delegation from the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) will be visiting the the county next week.He said CRA will particularly visit Mt Elgon region following his request due to cases of marginalization witnessed by residents.Wangamati was speaking in Chemasus village of Elgon Ward, Mt Elgon constituency, during a public participation forum."In September last year, I approached the Commission On Revenue Allocation and argued out your case. I said this Elgon region is as marginalized as Pokot and Turkana, hence deserve Equalization Fund just like any other marginalized region of Kenya," said Wangamati on Thursday."The chairperson accepted to come and visit the region and they are coming next week. We shall be here with them for three days. If they accept my request for consideration, Mt Elgon will receive extra Sh200 to Sh300 million every year."He noted that this money would go a long way in infrastructural development of the area.Wangamati was checking on the public participation in vetting of beneficiaries to the bursary fund.He said Vetting for beneficiaries to the free fertilizer programme would also be contacted in the same manner starting February.
