Studying up to university level is every high school student's dream.
Talk of how everyone in school envisions to become a lawyer, an engineer or doctor confirms this.
But to crown it all, the craze to live that 'reckless' and care free life sums up the push by secondary school students to join university.
But is university life as rosy as it's painted?
Interviews done by this writer reveal that as much as campus life looks flowery, it is actually clouded by sorrowful incidents that compel students regret their actions.
According to timeshighereducation.com, the rate of HIV/Aids infections in Kenyan universities has hit a record high with students between 19 and 24 affected the most.
Reason? Condom use, particularly among ladies is on the decline.
A girl from a prominent city university said campus girls would rather contract HIV/Aids that get pregnant.
"Every man wants a girl with a big booty and whatnot, campus students are no exception," she said.
"Majority of those who come for us are loaded (financially strong) and do not prefer using condoms. But off course live sexual acts attract higher charges and this is what we target."
The lady who cannot be named for fear she could be victimised said making quick cash through casual sex with men is no longer news.
"We know they (sponsors) are married men, but that's no bother. It's money first and fast."
"I have needs which require money, a lot of money. So why hang around that broke guy who cannot fulfill my material desires?"
She said the rate at which the ladies were embracing the use of FACO products is also on the rise.
These are products used either for the enlargement or contraction of breasts, hips, weight and bums.
"A girl has to take care of herself, a girl has to enjoy free drinks at the bar, and a big bum is the necessary requirement," another girl said.
