This is after Senate Speaker Ekwe Ethuro directed the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights chaired by Busia senator Amos Wako, to invite members of the public, human rights lobby groups, and other stakeholders to air their views and table a report in the Senate on the same day.

The motion which Jubilee MPs passed at the National Assembly, allows a manual backup system for voter identification, timeliness for the acquisition of election systems, and results transmission, which Cord has strongly opposed.
